New Apple patent applications show a very elegant tablet pc using an ipod like interface element. Integrating the proven usability of the ipod Click Wheel metaphor in a tablet based haptic display. There are other images of haptic navigation not unlike the way hands are used as input devices in the movie Minority Report that I have always found intriguing.
